Kim, your Mopan River hostess/wedding planner, is ready to help you plan your special event. Vow Renewal ceremonies are offered for couples wishing to re-affirm their love and devotion to each other. Legal Requirements: A Belizean marriage license for non-Belizeans costs US$100 (included in our package) and you must have been resident in the country for three days to qualify. Blood tests are not necessary. You must have parent's consent if under 18, and if either party was previously married, proof of divorce or widowhood must be presented with license application.

Vow Renewal Packages

Package A: US$150 includes:
Ceremony
Decorations for the chapel, or other site in the gardens
A small bouquet for the bride;
A bottle of champagne
A full color personalized certificate, commemorating your ceremony.

Package B: US$350 includes:
Ceremony
Decorations for the chapel, or other site in the gardens
Bouquet and boutonniere;
A bottle of champagne
Anniversary Cake
Local musician (flute or guitar)
Private "dinner for two" served on your veranda that evening
A full color personalized certificate, commemorating your ceremony.

We wanted to say thank you so much for the perfect wedding and week leading up to it! We all had such a wonderful time and we cannot imagine being married any other way. The resort was absolutely beautiful and the food was delicious. We'll be back to celebrate an anniversary!

Hello Everyone!

Chris and I got married in the country of Belize at the Mopan River Resort on Feb. 7, 2004. We were gone for 10 days, and explored archeological cave sites, climbed Maya ruins, and had a wedding! We spent our last days out on the cayes, but we really had our best time [at Mopan].

We just wanted to send a note to thank you SO MUCH for all the work you did to make our wedding day beautiful and memorable. We can't stop talking about how perfectly everything went the entire time we were there. Then we got our photos developed last week and were even happier - the photographer you picked for us did a great job. Must have been the magic of the place and event putting a glow on our faces.

The clan that we brought with us (all 16 of them) continues to thank us for picking such a great place to have the wedding. They all had a fabulous time on their vacations and miss the Banana Velvets. I've traveled a lot but never had an experience quite like [Mopan]. Every tour was memorable, the guides were great, we never ate a bad meal the entire week, and at the end of every day you felt like you were sitting down talking with old friends - even if you'd only met them the night before. If another place like your exists, I think we'd be hard pressed to find it. I'm not sure if it was fate or luck that brought us to you, but I can't imagine getting married any other way. Here's a photo for you to remember us by, after it was all over celebrating with (what else?) a banana velvet. Take care and keep up the good work - I see years of happy tourists in your future.
